dolphin discovery park on sandy point?

Does anyone know if the Dolphin park was completed at Sandy Point, Blowing Point area?

To be truthful, I hope it never comes back, as much for the dolphins' sake as for Anguilla's. I just don't see Anguilla as a place with "tourist traps." They don't have restaurant chains here, don't encourage kitsch of any kind.

Why they'd do the dolphin thing never made sense to me. I understand that kids and families like to do that sort of thing, but it's brutal on the dolphins, out of touch with what Anguilla is all about. I don't think it's being re-started.

I am assuming you all are talking about the captive display industry. When I lived in the Caribbean I worked on marine mammal issues mostly to counter the efforts Japan was making to get Caribbean nations to vote to lift the global the moratorium on whaling. I also worked to stop "swim with the dolphins" tourist attractions from coming to Puerto Rico. It is impossible to believe that an animal that covers miles and miles in a day, dives to great depths etc. can be happy in what amounts to a large swimming pool. The Costeau family has been outspoken about this as well. I hope Anguilla will never allow this to happen there.
